Monkey in the Sky with Diamonds is a hidden picture activity with twenty diamond shapes hidden throughout the piece. Since my art style tends to compliment a younger audience, space was one of the first ideas I came up with and it gave me a lot of opportunities to hide random bits of nostalgia throughout the piece. I tried to incorporate small stories within this piece through the way “random” objects interact with each other. One can see a small alien pointing and laughing at an astronaut whose ship was taken over by a giant monster, a space monkey to represent the monkeys that were sent into space right next to Sputnik the satellite, and even a tree with some wildlife falling out of it.
